Blend Modes

As mentioned at the beginning of this section, layers and layer groups are composited on top of each other using Photoshop-style blend modes (also known as composite or transfer modes). The default for layers is Normal. The default for layer groups is Pass-through, since the composite is generally based on the blend mode settings of the layers within the group. However, the blend modes for layers and groups can both be changed from the pulldown menu at the bottom of the panel.
